I am excited to join the team at Morningstar as a predoctoral intern this year! I grew up in Waubay, South Dakota, and am a member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota-Morris, majoring in Psychology and Native American/Indigenous Studies. I then joined the Indians Into Psychology Doctoral Education program at the University of North Dakota, where I completed my MS in Psychology and am now a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology PhD program.

Throughout my time at UND, I have worked with a variety of populations, but my longest placement was working with Indigenous peoples in recovery. This fueled my passion for walking alongside our relatives as they go through their healing journeys, and I look forward to being able to continue this work with Morningstar. My hope is to be able to return home to my reservation after I complete my schooling, to be able to continue this work in my home community as well.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my daughter, beading, sewing, and reading.
