Kyly attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Classics/Religious Studies with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. She later returned to UNL where she completed a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Kyly serves on Morningstar’s college team, offering individual therapy and outreach to faculty, staff and students at tribal colleges and universities. She has received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA). Kyly has experience in working with students of all ages, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and anger.
Prior to her work at Morningstar, Kyly worked with high school students for TRIO's Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science Programs. She is an alumni of Upward Bound, Student Support Services, and the McNair Scholars Program.
On a personal note, Kyly enjoys beading, building tiny houses, watching movies, listening to true crime podcasts, and reading. She is a dog-mom and loves to hang with her dane-doodle Snuffy.
