Krystyn (pronounced Christine) Schmidt, MA LIMHP LADC (she/her/hers), she a Nebraska native, however she spent some years in Arizona soaking up the heat, and starting grad school; before returning and completing her Masters degree at Doane College. In her career as a therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings, which has created her style and areas of specialization. Before moving full time into private practice; she worked at Counseling and Psychological Services at UNL. She was a member of the Eating Disorder and Cultural Competency Teams, created and developed the case management program and engaged in extensive crisis work. Her work as the Director of Psychological Health for the Nebraska Army National Guard, developed her heart and passion for military members and their families. She has worked for multiple years with individuals experiencing issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions. More recently, her awareness and experience has branched into understanding, teaching and counseling those experiencing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma and using somatic work.

Her approach to therapy is laid back and relaxed, but also professional and direct. She utilizes a variety of counseling theories, particularly strength-based and holistic approaches.

Krystyn has a passion for nature and Mother Earth. You can find her running, walking, hiking, swimming, dancing, and playing outside with family and friends. She loves music and finds this connecting on a soul level. She enjoys reading and listening to Podcasts that help move her professionally and personally.
