Osiyo! It's how we say 'Hello' in Tsalagi. I'm glad you're here. I am a provisionally licenced mental health counselor with an integrated approach that is designed to support your goals for change, well-being, and connection. I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Doane University. I am a citizen of Cherokee Nation and the descendant of Irish & English immigrants. I am a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ Community and identify as a reconnecting, urban Native with rural roots. With these lenses I honor my heritage, acknowledge my privilege, and strive to offer culturally competent, inclusive, and affirming care to all. I specialize in working with Native American populations, LGBTQIA2S+ communities, and non-conventional relationship styles. I am honored to support individuals as they seek healing, growth, or knowledge in the following areas: anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, substance use problems, grief, life transitions, interpersonal & relationship difficulties, educational difficulties, suicidality, cultural identity concerns, gender and sexuality concerns, mood disorders, personality disorders, OCD, and career exploration.
I employ an integrative approach, weaving together Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered & psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness practices, relational-cultural theory, and feminist theory to best support the unique, multifaceted, intersectional being that you are. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, and am pursuing training in EMDR. I honor and acknowledge the role of ceremony, tradition, and culture in the healing journey of some of my relatives.
When I am not counseling, I enjoy volunteering in my community, riding my bike, camping, hiking, swimming, DJing, and dancing.
