About Us

Morningstar Counseling and Consultation was founded in 2013 by Dr. Anitra Warrior with the goal of providing culturally responsive care to Indigenous communities. Our practice is dedicated to bridging the gap in mental health services for Native American, Alaska Native, and First Nations populations by integrating traditional healing practices with modern therapeutic approaches. In addition to serving Indigenous Relatives, our Providers see all members of our community and prioritize offering the highest level of care.

Our Mission

At Morningstar Counseling and Consultation, our mission is to empower Indigenous individuals and communities through holistic mental health care that respects and honors cultural heritage. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where Relatives can explore their mental health needs and find healing pathways that resonate with their cultural identities.

Our Approach

We believe in the power of culturally responsive care. Our approach involves:

  • Cultural Competence: Our team is trained to understand and respect the unique cultural contexts of Indigenous peoples. We prioritize ongoing education and collaboration with Tribal leaders to ensure our services are relevant and effective.
  • Integration of Traditional Practices: We incorporate Indigenous healing methods alongside evidence-based therapies to provide a comprehensive care model that addresses the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical aspects of well-being.
  • Community Collaboration: We work closely with Tribal communities to develop programs that meet their specific needs, ensuring that our services are aligned with community values and goals.
